HOPITAL DE L’UNIVERSITE D'ETAT D'HAITI IN PORT-AU-PRINCE

Moving the ICU of the Port-au-Prince University Hospital to a more permanent location.

Managing all manner of medical conditions in our Port-au-Prince emergency room.

To ensure the continuous availability of emergency preventative and curative healthcare services, International Medical Corps worked with hospital administration to ensure access to surgical, medical and emergency obstetric care as well as trauma and wound care. Immediately following the earthquake, International Medical Corps partnered with the director of the hospital ensuring the orderly intake of patients, efficient triage and management of acute patient care.  We also created an emergency surgical facility and established a telecommunications system throughout the hospital, so that different wards could communicate with each other.

Our team in Haiti continues to provide training and support to hospital administration to ensure that the hospital maintains its capacity long-term.

At the height of emergency operations, International Medical Corps treated approximately 1,000 patients per day at the hospital.
