International Medical Corps’ 2013 Annual Awards Celebration, attended by 880 supporters, was its most successful yet, raising nearly $2 million for its lifesaving programs around the world. Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton accepted the Global Champion Award for her remarkable contributions to the humanitarian community. Clinton, a long-time champion of International Medical Corps’ work delivering humanitarian relief to communities devastated by conflict or disaster, was honored for her profound dedication to advancing human dignity, particularly for women and children.
International Medical Corps honored California biotechnology pioneer Amgen with the Global Citizen Award, in recognition of its generous support of the organization’s emergency relief efforts in Haiti, Japan and Pakistan. Chairman and CEO Robert Bradway accepted the award on behalf of Amgen.
International Medical Corps recognized businessman Jonathan Glaser with the Humanitarian Award. Glaser, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of JMG Capital Partners, L.P. and an International Medical Corps Leadership Council member, was honored for his extraordinary commitment to and generous support of the organization’s lifesaving work. International Medical Corps also recognized Amenan Virginie Tanou, a health worker from the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the Founder’s Award.
Jarl Mohn, a dedicated and long-time supporter of International Medical Corps, returned as Master of Ceremonies for the event.
