Sienna Miller in DRC

In Spring of 2009, actress Sienna Miller visited International Medical Corps' programs in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

An estimated 5.4 million people have died in the region as a result of ongoing conflict, malnutrition, and disease.

Eastern DRC is also being ravaged by an epidemic of rape which is being used as a weapon of war. There are some estimates of tens of thousands of rapes each year in eastern DRC.

International Medical Corps has been operating in eastern DRC since the 90’s, providing primary health care, nutrition, and treatment and prevention for victims of sexual violence.
