In response to the Russo-Chechen wars which left approximately 300,000 dead and 750,000 displaced, International Medical Corps began providing services in the North Caucasus in 2000.
Ryabinka has been home to internally displaced families from North Ossetia since 1992.While most have returned to their communities, some are still unable to return because their villages remain closed.
