We are a non-profit relief and development organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. We not only respond to emergencies, but we use innovative programs to tackle the world’s most difficult challenges, such as poverty, hunger, and disease.

We work in some 30 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including Iraq, Darfur, Somalia, and Afghanistan.
3. How is International Medical Corps different than other non-profits?
Unlike many other relief organizations, we stay long after the crisis has ended to help communities fully recover and get back to self-reliance. We believe no emergency response effort is complete without passing on the skills and resources communities need to be able to care of themselves.

International Medical Corps receives funding – big and small – from public and private sources. Our work would not be possible without the generosity of corporations, foundations, government agencies, and people like you.
5. How much of my donation goes to International Medical Corps programs?
90 percent of donations go to support our programs in the field. Its efficient operations have earned International Medical Corps the highest charity-watchdog honors.
6. Why do you have programs other than health care?
International Medical Corps takes on a holistic approach to health. We believe medical care is one component of health. For example, without clean water and food, there cannot be good health.

International Medical Corps has security staff at both the HQ and field level that is trained to deal with a variety of emergency situations. All staff sent to the field, no matter the length of the assignment, is given security briefings tailored to the country where they are to work.
