Our Iraq Refugee Response

The years of turmoil that followed the 2003 American-led invasion have left more than 2.7 million Iraqis internally displaced with little to no access to health care and other resources.  As the only international relief agency to operate in all 18 of Iraq’s governorates, even during the worst of the violence, International Medical Corps has been uniquely positioned to help. Another 1.9 million Iraqis have fled the country during this period to become refugees, mainly in neighboring Syria, Jordan and Lebanon—where our teams are also there to help.
