We Are Helping Civilians Affected by
Conflict in the Middle East

After regional hostilities in the Middle East erupted on February 28, the conflict has rapidly escalated, drawing in multiple state and non‑state actors.

Deteriorating conditions pose a threat to civilians, disrupt services and put humanitarian operations at severe risk. Further attacks and worsening logistical disruptions are expected in the coming days, which could lead to a broad humanitarian crisis.

International Medical Corps delivers lifesaving services at scale across the Middle East, reaching nearly 3.62 million people in 2025 with integrated health, nutrition, mental health, protection, and water, sanitation and hygiene services.

Our presence in Gaza, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen enables us to rapidly expand response services as conditions change. We are able to provide field hospitals, static and mobile health units, and integrated multi-sectoral programming to maintain continuity of care and deliver critical lifesaving services to civilians affected by conflict.

All International Medical Corps staff members currently are safe and accounted for.
International Medical Corps is among the largest humanitarian responders in the Middle East, delivering lifesaving care at scale in some of the region’s most complex and high-risk settings.
Since we deployed our first field hospital in Gaza in January 2024, we have provided more than 1 million health consultations.
In Lebanon, where more than 30,000 people have been displaced by the recent fighting, the healthcare centers we support have waived fees, and we are readying mobile medical units for deployment.

Our Response in the Middle East

As one of the largest humanitarian health responders in the Middle East, International Medical Corps is uniquely positioned to help civilians affected by this conflict. In 2025 alone, we reached nearly 4 million people in the region through integrated health, nutrition, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), protection, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs.

For example, in 2025, International Medical Corps provided 1.84 million health consultations in Syria, delivered 71,013 consultations through 40 supported primary healthcare centers in Lebanon, and provided 154,411 health and MHPSS consultations in Jordan’s Azraq and Zaatari camps. In Yemen, International Medical Corps delivered 388,647 health consultations, sustaining essential services for vulnerable communities. And since we deployed our first field hospital in Gaza in January 2024, International Medical Corps’ three field hospitals there have delivered more than 1 million consultations, performed almost 22,000 surgeries and managed more than 10,400 births.
