2018 Annual Report
In 1984, International Medical Corps launched its first humanitarian assistance program, anchored in an idea novel for its time: recruit local residents from the remote villages of war-torn Afghanistan, train them as paramedics, then support their return home with medicines and other supplies needed to provide basic healthcare for people in their communities. This innovative approach—helping people move from relief to self-reliance—worked, and continues to guide our efforts today.View the report
