Terry McCarthy

Nonprofit Executive and Former Journalist

Terry McCarthy is a nonprofit executive and former journalist who has traveled extensively around the world documenting conflict and cooperation in all corners of the globe. Most recently he ran the American Society of Cinematographers in Hollywood, and from 2018-19 he was President of the American Academy in Berlin. Between 2012 and 2018 he was President and CEO of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, bringing speakers from around the world to LA. Prior to that, he was a foreign correspondent for TIME magazine and then ABC News and CBS News, covering the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the rise of China, peace agreements in Cambodia and East Timor and the international campaign to ban landmines. He has managed bureaus in the US and overseas and set up two bureaus in war zones. He speaks six languages, has won four Emmys and an Edward R. Murrow award.

Dave Hartman

Senior Manager of Global Aid Programs, Flexport.org

Dave Hartman is Senior Manager of Global Aid Programs for Flexport.org, the social impact arm of Flexport, a supply chain technology company. A founding member of the team and its first operations hire, since 2019 Flexport.org has handled the movement of more than 98 million pounds of humanitarian cargo to 120 countries for 175 nonprofits, community organizations, hospitals and social enterprises.

Prior to Flexport, Dave spent five years with Save the Children as a member of its humanitarian response team as a media and communications officer. He deployed to Iraq, Liberia and Nepal, along with short assignments in Jordan, Indonesia, and for Hurricane Sandy and the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy in Newton, Connecticut. He began his time at Save the Children building out their social media team and strategy.

Dave is certified Wilderness First Responder, and volunteers with Team Rubicon as a chainsaw operator and wildland fire mitigation and remediation projects.

He holds a BS in Journalism from Quinnipiac University and an MBA from Emory University.

Becky Kent

Vice President of Impact, TOMS

Becky Kent (she/her) is the Vice President of Impact at TOMS. She serves as a member of the TOMS Leadership Team and leads the 360-impact strategy across the organization consisting of impact grantmaking, environmental sustainability, impact communications, and purpose culture. Becky oversees high-quality impact operations and advances strategic partnerships in service of TOMS's mission of using business to improve lives.

In this role, Becky ensures the highest quality impact through global impact partner development, powerful storytelling, and transparent reporting. She manages the TOMS team responsible for environmental sustainability efforts, B Corp certification, and employee engagement.

During her twelve years with TOMS, Becky has worked to transition the TOMS impact model from One for One to now giving 1/3 of its profits for good with a focus on mental health - specifically helping fund access to mental health resources. She has a passion for developing deep, trust-based partnerships with nonprofits and finding ways to tell their impact stories.

Becky holds an MA in International Development from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver and a BA in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. She resides in Los Angeles.

Rebecca Milner

Chief Advancement Officer, International Medical Corps

Rebecca Milner is Chief Advancement Officer at International Medical Corps, where she mobilizes partnerships, resources and awareness to support programs that reach more than 16 million people annually worldwide. A preeminent first responder, International Medical Corps provides lifesaving healthcare and training that builds self-reliance for people on the front lines of war, disaster and disease in 30 countries.

Under Milner’s leadership, International Medical Corps’ institutional advancement team raises about $50 million in cash and in-kind support each year. She has spearheaded the development of comprehensive public-private partnerships with some of the world’s largest companies and foundations, including AbbVie, Amgen, Facebook, FedEx, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Google and JPMorgan Chase, among others. This support has led to significant improvements in the health and well-being of communities around the world. Milner also oversees International Medical Corps’ media outreach and public relations efforts, coordinating campaigns with celebrity spokespeople and entertainment industry executives. She collaborates with International Medical Corps’ board and advisory board members to raise awareness and funds to support the organization’s lifesaving work. She has more than 20 years of communications, fundraising and marketing experience, and speaks regularly on humanitarian aid, global health and women’s health. During her career, Milner has served in various communications and fundraising roles, generating awareness and support for organizations focused on economic development and human rights for women, development and freedom of the press and education. Milner has a B.A. and M.P.A. from American University.

Hanne Dalmut

Senior Director of Partnerships, Concordia

Hanne Dalmut is the Senior Director of Partnerships and serves on the organization’s senior leadership team in support of organization-wide impact and growth. As Senior Director, she oversees Concordia’s Membership, Sponsorship, and Programming Partnership relationships and, working with her team, ensures that Concordia’s year-round work connects back to its mission of building partnerships for social impact. She also manages the P3 Impact Award, an annual award created by Concordia, the University of Virginia Darden School Institute for Business in Society, and the U.S. Department of State Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships to recognize and honor best practices of public-private partnerships (P3s) that are improving communities and the world in the most impactful ways, in addition to the Concordia Action Alliance and Action Fund, which catalyzes partnerships in the natural disaster and global health response space. Hanne regularly represents the organization publicly and contributes to global coalition work through her expertise on public-private partnerships and cross-sector collaboration.

Hanne joined Concordia in 2016 as the Director of Social Impact, where she helped to implement the organization’s Campaign Against Labor Trafficking and the Campaign for a Sustainable Global Food Supply, and later became its Senior Director of Partnership Development, leveraging Concordia’s year-round programming, partnership-oriented research, and global network to develop cross-sector collaboration that combats global challenges and achieves positive social impact. This followed experience with the U.S. Institute of Peace and the PeaceTech Lab, an offshoot of the Institute dedicated to conflict prevention through the innovative application of data, technology, and media. At the Institute, and later the Lab, Hanne worked on strategic initiatives and partnership building within the peacebuilding space, to include supporting the 2014 U.S. National Defense Panel and several of the Institute’s senior working groups. Additional professional experience includes internships at the State Department, the European Parliament, and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Hanne earned her Master’s from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, where she focused on the nexus of diplomacy and defense in the transatlantic relationship. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Truman State University (Kirksville, MO), and has language skills in German, French, and Turkish.

Jeff Burrel

Senior Director of Social Impact, Riot Games

Jeffrey Burrell is the Head of Social Impact & Sustainability and Executive Director of the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. In this role, Jeffrey leads all social impact efforts which include in-game fundraisers across Riot’s five titles, the disbursement of funds and grants given out globally by the Social Impact Fund, internal employee fundraising and volunteer efforts. Under Jeffrey’s leadership, the Social Impact Fund has raised over $50M and supported 450+ nonprofits across 25 regions around the world.

He also leads Riot’s sustainability division where he oversees company-wide environmental sustainability work which includes emission reporting and reduction efforts across all areas of the business from game development, to esports, to partnerships.

Prior to joining Riot, Jeffrey worked for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Apple, and worked with Microfinance Institutions in Tanzania. Jeffrey received an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, and is a First Mover Fellow at the Aspen Institute.

Carine Mathurin

Director, Global Impact Giving, Merck

Carine Mathurin has dedicated her career to driving impactful social change and advancing equitable access to healthcare on a global scale.

As Director of Global Impact Giving at Merck, Carine is at the forefront of designing and executing programs and initiatives that direct corporate resources toward strengthening and supporting communities. Whether in response to natural disasters, humanitarian crises or systemic inequities, Carine leverages her expertise to ensure that resources are allocated to those most in need.

Before joining Merck, Carine was a Senior Director at Gilead Sciences, where she played a pivotal role in reducing health disparities by developing innovative public-private partnerships in regions heavily burdened by HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

Prior to her work in the private sector, Carine demonstrated her commitment to social change through key public-sector positions, including Chief of Staff at the DC Department of Health/HIV AIDS Administration, and Deputy Commissioner at the New York City Department of Homeless Services.

Carine holds certificates in Diversity & Inclusion for HR from Cornell University and Non-profit Management from Columbia Business School, where she received her Master’s degree in social work. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University, NY. Carine currently resides in Maryland.

Claudine (Claude) Zukowski

Senior Director, Community Impact, P&G

Claude Zukowski is a seasoned leader with more than three decades of experience at Procter & Gamble (P&G). She has been instrumental in driving community support initiatives, including leading P&G’s global disaster-relief efforts, the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program and product donations, positively impacting lives worldwide. With a background deeply rooted in science and a profound commitment to service, she began her P&G career as a microbiologist, developing healthcare products and ensuring product quality across various business units, while continuing to live out her passion for aiding others as a firefighter/paramedic for 13 years. Today, Claude channels her expertise to collaborate with non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders to deliver programs that support communities during times of need.
