Community Action Corps

We save lives and relieve suffering. But we can’t do it alone. International Medical Corps’ Community Action Corps provides corporate, foundation and other community partners with opportunities to engage their employees and constituencies—in-person and virtually—through impactful activities that help us prepare for and respond when disaster strikes.

Kitting

Interested and want to learn more?

Kitting events are onsite volunteer opportunities where participants assemble hygiene and wound-care kits. We can accommodate groups of all sizes!

Working together, your group will pack and box up the kits that we will ship and distribute directly to communities affected by conflict, disaster and disease.

Kitting events can be integrated within already-scheduled volunteer days, aligned with humanitarian holidays (for example, World Refugee Day) or rolled into an existing event (such as your staff summer BBQ).

We will work with you to create an event that meets your needs by:

  • working with you to understand the size of your group, the time you want to fill and more;
  • delivering all of the necessary supplies directly to the event location and picking up after; and
  • providing a speaker to educate and inspire group on the impact of their contribution.

First Responders Challenge

During an hour-long interactive experience, an International Medical Corps staff member leads your group through a series of challenges. Participants work together in small teams throughout the event to complete these fun challenges—learning while engaging in a bit of friendly competition.

The First Responders Challenge is offered as an in-person, virtual or hybrid event, with virtual moderation by an International Medical Corps representative.

Challenges include:

  • In Common, where participants get to know their teammates a little better;
  • Readiness Rumble, where participants identify essential disaster preparedness supplies;
  • Memory, where participants learn about mental health in the aftermath of a disaster while testing their memories; and
  • Lightning Quiz, where participants race against the clock to answer questions about disaster preparedness.

With each challenge, teams earn points and unlock funds to help International Medical Corps prepare for and respond when the next disaster strikes. Together, we can help so many people!

Lunch & Learns

International Medical Corps’ professional staff can speak at corporate, community and other events, sharing stories from the field about our work. With thousands of staff members globally, International Medical Corps also can engage employees internationally through localized presentations and Lunch & Learn events.
