International Medical Corps is committed to providing assistance that is free from abuse.
All services and activities are free. You should never be asked for money, services, or favors in exchange for assistance.
The people who work for International Medical Corps are committed to following the standards of behavior outlined in our organization’s Safeguarding Policy.
Our organization will not tolerate sexual exploitation or sexual abuse by our representatives of the populations with whom we work and other vulnerable populations.
Our organization’s representatives are prohibited from engaging in sexual activities with a child (anyone below the age of 18), even if the local age of consent is below 18.
Our organization’s representatives are prohibited from engaging in trafficking of persons or forced labor. This includes recruiting, harboring, transporting, providing or obtaining a person for labor or services by using threats, force, coercion, abduction, fraud, deception or abuse of power.
Our organization’s representatives must protect vulnerable adults, meaning anyone age 18 or older who is at risk of abuse or neglect because of their needs for care and support. Abuse of vulnerable adults could include physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, financial abuse, discrimination or neglect.
Our organization’s representatives should ensure that children are safe by preventing abuse, exploitation, neglect, child labor and other forms of violence against children.
Exchange of money, employment, goods, services or anything of value for a sex act is prohibited, including sexual favors or other forms of humiliating, degrading or exploitative behavior. This includes sex with sex workers.

Have you witnessed or experienced unprofessional behavior or misconduct by a representative of our organization? You can report your concerns by email or online. You can even report anonymously: All reports will be kept confidential. We will investigate complaints about the assistance we provide or the way our representatives treat you, making sure that no one who makes a complaint in good faith faces negative consequences for reporting.
