In our precarious world, human existence remains fragile.

Too many people across the globe face acute crisis, their lives ravaged by conflict, disaster and disease. The statistics are daunting:

  • 110 million human beings forced to flee their homes, never to return
  • 3.1 million children who die every year from hunger
  • 830 women who die every day in childbirth

But behind these grim statistics are stories — stories that define and heal us, illuminating the resilient and resourceful humans behind the numbers.

Told through the eyes of heroic female healthcare workers,

each 20-minute episode of Women Who Rise will bring to life what it takes to deliver medical relief in the face of war and disaster — and why this lifesaving care matters. These compelling, character-driven narratives will show the courage that it takes as a woman on the frontlines to hold fraying communities together — and remind us that even as we remain divided across borders and politics, we are connected by our shared humanity.

As a long-time ambassador for International Medical Corps, I have seen first-hand the tremendous courage and commitment of women fighting to protect and care for their families and communities in the harshest, most dangerous environments. I stand in awe of these heroes and am honored to be able to showcase their power, dedication and bravery through this film series.
