Emergencies and Disaster Relief
As the only NGO in the world classified by the WHO as an EMT Type 1 (Fixed and Mobile), International Medical Corps provides emergency relief—often within hours—to those hit by disaster, no matter where they are, no matter what the conditions. We also help communities with disaster preparedness, providing training that helps them move from relief to self-reliance.
Responding to Conflict in the Middle East
International Medical Corps’ presence in Gaza, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen enables us to rapidly expand response services as conditions change. We are able to provide field hospitals, static and mobile health units, and integrated multi-sectoral programming to maintain continuity of care and deliver critical lifesaving services to civilians affected by conflict.

International Medical Corps has sent an emergency response team to Jamaica to assess conditions and deliver supplies after Hurricane Melissa slammed into the island as a dangerous Category 5 storm. We are working with the Ministry of Health and other partners to deliver critically needed relief and recovery supplies, and will send additional medical staff and facilities if needed to provide direct care for affected communities.

International Medical Corps is responding to the devastating flooding that swept through the Hill Country region of Central Texas on July 4. Working in coordination with local health centers and other partners, we sent an emergency response team that provided critically needed relief and recovery supplies, as well as direct mental health services, for affected communities. International Medical Corps is horrified by the Hamas terrorist attacks and the loss of lives in Israel. The further loss of lives in Gaza is tragically impacting civilians caught in the crossfire. Humanitarian assistance for families is critically needed across the region, so we are providing medical care and supplies, mental health, nutrition and protection services, and support for water, sanitation and hygiene.
